Rules Update: 1.2!


There's a new set of rules in town! Just in time for Free TTRPG day, I'm uploading a revised set of the rules and updated playbooks. Some of the new things that I've added include: re-naming Harm and calling it Knocks, re-organizing the "Downtime" session into two options: Rest Stops and Time Passes, and changing the bonding mechanics with the Child. I've also changed some of the mechanics related to the Child, such as eliminating stats that they roll and replacing them with elements of the Child's personality that they will acquire as they get older. I've also fleshed out Milestones with extra questions, to encourage special narrative moments in between the Child and your characters as you play.

I'm hoping that these updates will give the Child more agency, as well as provide opportunities for the monsters to get to know each-other better. Parenthood requires teamwork, and you can't be a team if you don't trust each-other!

I've archived 1.1 and the old play-kits for now, and I'm going to be working on building a space where I get to test this game more rigorously and with more people. I hope to have more news next month!
