It was supposed to be a simple job. Get in, get a sample, get out, don't get caught. You didn't expect there to be a kid, locked up in a room like a mouse in a box. She says the corpos stole her away from her parents and stuck her full of needles. Now she's in your arms, hands over her ears while the alarm blares, and security drones are blocking your every exit. What do you do?

Digital Glitch is a cyberpunk setting and play-set for Protect the Child, a Forged-in-the-Dark game of monster babysitters. Play as heavily modified cyber-runners, on the run from mega-corporate bounty hunters  as you try to find Nova's parents.

On the way you might have to battle mechanized police dogs, negotiate with climate activists, and keep out of the crosshairs of a rival cyber-running gang. Not to mention Nova's own nervous system is fighting her every step of the way.

Themes: Infertility, Exploitation, Police Violence, Capitalism, Disability, Medical Horror.

This play-set was designed for both the Kiwi Jam 2024and the Dice Exploder Pregen Jam. It draws heavy inspiration from The Sprawl, by Hamish Cameron, as well as various media such as Unauthorized Bread, How To Blow Up A Pipeline, and 24XX: Dire Pulse.

Game Design and Layout both done by Mint-Rabbit. Icon art is Public Domain (https://game-icons.net/), and the digital clocks were created by 500poundsofnothing. Ideal for 3-4 players.

This game requires Protect the Child to play. Protect the Child is based on Blades in the Dark, product of One Seven Design, developed and authored by John Harper, and licensed for use under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license
